i usually *hate* people who let the paper jam sit there and don’t fix it. and today i got paper jammed with this printer i was not familiar with. i was almost going to be that idiot who just let paper jam sat there. ….. luckily the paper jam code of conduct emerges to my head.
- don’t panic when you cause the paper jam
- don’t open up the machine right away no matter how simple or complicated it looks like
- go to lookup the model number and search for the printer manual
- read off the error message and look up in the manual
- if that all of the above don’t work, just wait for your colleagues or IT support (i know, but you don’t want to make things worse and they will hate you forever)
- if you try to do duplex print to save your company’s paper, that’s great. but if you keep getting paper jam because of that. forget it. you’d rather stay with one sided print. or try to print two pages in one. give up double sided. I am warning you.
this works for copy machine too. they should put this near all of the public printers in the office.
oh yes, i did clear up up that paper jam.
