Nate Sr.: You hang on to your pain like it means something. Like it’s worth something. Well, let me tell you - it’s not worth shit. Let it go! Infinite possibilities, and all he can do is whine.
David: Well, what am I supposed to do?
Nate Sr.: What do you think? You can do *anything* you lucky bastard - you’re alive! What’s a little pain compared to that?
David: It can’t be that simple.

Bob : What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?
